Quantifiers in English: talking about quantities

Talking about  quantities in English

When we talk about quantities we can use a lot of words depending on the quantities we have and the nouns.

In questions when we ask about quantities we can use two wh-questions :
how much+ uncountable nouns
how many+ countable nouns

Some/any  mean not much/not many: they can be used to talk about  quantities with countable nouns in the plural and uncountable nouns:

some is usually used in affirmative  sentences (+)

any is used in negative  sentences (-) and  interrogative  sentences (?)

I’ve got  some fruit and some  eggs

I haven’t got any  eggs and  any  meat

When we talk about a  huge quantity we use    a lot of, much and many:

a lot of  is usually used in affirmative  sentences  (+) with  countable and uncountable nouns

much is used in negative and interrogative  sentences with uncoutable nouns   (+/-)

many is used in  negative and interrogative   sentences with  countable nouns  (+/-)
